Many people do not seek treatment for mental illness due to the associated stigma. Only 44% of adults with diagnosable mental illnesses receive treatment.
By addressing risk factors such as trauma, it is possible to prevent certain mental health disorders, especially in children and adolescents.
20% of youth have a mental health condition, with one in 10 young people having experienced a period of major depression.

The New 9th is dedicated to the needs of the community. Since Curren Price, Jr's tenure a positive shift towards work, play, and living in CD9 has increased.
Lend A Ear is appreciative and thankful for the opportunity to service "The New CD9" with our art therapy program. Our goal is to increase dialog, identify qualities, boost self-esteem, encourage, and express ones self through paint.
If you are or know someone in need of an ear to lean on please call or text 1-833-563-2327 for an ear.

Lend A Ear's team of adult and youth ambassadors are driven to be a source of motivation and inspiration by lending an ear for all youth to lean on. Our uniqueness is deeply rooted in providing community outreach in an effort to equip all youth with up-to-date resources that fit their individual needs.
We are on a mission to encourage, enrich, and enlighten the lives of all youth by inspiring them to speak up and speak out.
Lend A Ear is a nonprofit youth hotline with a uniqueness rooted in face-to-face community outreach. The President witnessed a visible need for our youth to speak up and speak out after hearing the sound of defeat in their voices, witnessing their breaths of hope fade, recognizing their will to succeed, and watching them wrestle to overcome the pressure to fail.
“Start with one child and that child will bring one.”
